What’s Happening?

Austin Museum Day is a community event coordinated by Austin Museum Partnership which offers free admission and includes special programs and activities at museums and cultural institutions across the city. This year's Museum Day at the NCHM features:
 
·       lawn games and activities with Math Happens
·       Art on the Lawn local art market
·       live music: Duck Creek String Band
·       Victorian-era and Civil War medic living historians
·       old-fashioned ice cream and fresh-squeezed lemonade making activity
·       free iced tea, lemonade, and free Museum admission
 
Make the NCHM a part of your Austin Museum Day, enjoy the outdoor activities, then come inside the Museum with free admission to see one of Austin's oldest residences. While inside, don't miss The Hope Suite by Mark Smith, on display in our gallery. Math Happens will lead kids in a fun, math-based activity on the NCHM lawn! And the Bearded Baking Company will have a stand selling delicious cookies and sandwiches.
 
Free parking is available behind the Museum. Drop by anytime from 11-4pm.

More about Neill-Cochran House Museum
The Neill-Cochran House Museum is located in the heart of Austin, TX, just a few minutes walk from the UT-Austin campus. We steward the city's 10th oldest historic site (1856), including Austin's only intact slave quarters. We share our site, Austin, and Texas history from the city's birth in 1839 up to 1930 through historically furnished spaces as well as numerous rotating art and history exhibitions.
