Cancer Prevention and Screening

Technologists

Regular visits with your primary care doctor will help you keep up-to-date on cancer screening. Englewood Health also offers cancer prevention and screening activities throughout the year for specific types of cancer. When free cancer screening programs for the community are scheduled, further details will be posted here.

Smoking Cessation Program

The Graf Center for Integrative Medicine has tools to help you quit smoking. Our group smoking cessation program will teach you strategies to commit to quitting smoking. The program is led by a licensed clinical social worker who is certified through the American Lung Association Freedom from Smoking Program®. This program is held periodically throughout the year.

Breast Cancer Screening

The Leslie Simon Breast Care and Cytodiagnosis Center is a leader in mammography and other breast cancer screening. On occasion, we offer free breast cancer screening to women who meet certain eligibility criteria.

Colon Cancer Screening

During March (Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month), we may offer free FIT (fecal immunochemical test) checks for hidden blood in the stool from the lower intestines. At other times of the year, speak to your doctor about colon and rectal cancer screening, including getting a colonoscopy, or find a gastroenterologist now

Lung Cancer Screening

Held annually in November, our free lung cancer screening service offers low-dose CT scans for current and former smokers who meet certain eligibility criteria. Lung cancer screening is also available year-round with a prescription from your physician, at standard charges and fees. If you have a prescription, call 201-894-3640 to make an appointment.

Prostate Cancer Screening

We offer free prostate cancer screening (PSA test and DRE test) every September to men who meet certain eligibility criteria. For screening at other times of the year, see your primary care physician or urologist. Find a urologist now
