Live Music Concert

What’s Happening?

Hear the museum’s restored Skinner pipe organ and see the beautifully renovated Mimi and Stuart Rose Auditorium. Matt Dierking from the Dayton Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will perform on the 1st & 3rd Sunday of each month at 2 p.m. (unless otherwise noted).

2024 Performances:
Feb 4 – For an early Valentine’s Day treat, this program will explore the evolution of Love Songs from the 1500s to 2000. This music of love includes classical pieces, operatic arias, hymns, tin-pan-alley tunes, broadway hits and popular songs. The performance will conclude with a modern take on the Wedding March. The accompanying video program mixes Valentine’s graphics with the art of love across the centuries.

Feb 18 – This program will have two parts, beginning with a reprise of some of the Valentine’s Love songs and then celebrating Presidents Day with a variety of well-known Patriotic Music. The video program will include historic images of the country and presidents.

Mar 17 – This St Patrick’s Day program includes Irish jigs, reels, love songs and ballads. The music ranges from lively dances to lyrical love songs to poignant ballads. The video program includes images of Ireland and St Patrick’s Day celebrations around Dayton.

Mar 24 – The Music to celebrate the start of Spring includes classical pieces, voluntaries and modern pieces, all focused on the end of winter and the warming of spring. The video will feature images of spring, flowers, and the art of spring.
