Israel-Palestine: MEPs debate with representatives of “A land for all” 

After the meeting, Udo Bullmann (S&D, DE), Chair of the Subcommittee on Human Rights said:

“During my recent visit to Egypt, Israel and Palestine, I saw the terrible suffering on both sides of the conflict, and was shocked. However, I met with many people in Israel and in Palestine who are solution-oriented and who are actively working on a better future for all. These included May Pundak and Rula Hardal. One has Israeli roots, and one has Palestinian roots. Together they lead the Israeli-Palestinian movement “A land for All - Two states one homeland”.

Their articulated vision consists in two sovereign, independent and democratic states in a shared homeland with gradual freedom of movement for both Israeli-Jews and Arab-Palestinians, where equal individual and national rights are respected. They believe that the principle of integration should replace the paradigm of segregation. The future should hold power sharing and a common representation of interests, prensenting a pragmatic and sustainable two states solution.

These two wonderful women and their tireless endeavour for peace, security and stability showed me that there is an active civil society working on a solution together and not against each other. Therefore, I want to call on the EU to strongly and immediately support all cooperation efforts that try to converge the two worlds, which have been hostile to each other for way too long.”

On March 19th, the Subcommittee on Human Rights held an exchange of views on Israel and Palestine with May Pundak and Rula Hardal, Israeli and Palestinian Executive Directors of the movement “A Land for All - Two States One Homeland”.
