Women’s Health Update 2023 is arriving at a time of immense uncertainty in the sexual and reproductive health landscape, and at a time of great opportunity. Over the past year, there have been an onslaught of attacks on sexual and reproductive health care that jeopardize access and put the progress we have made over the past three decades at risk.

We continue to be at an important crossroads for racial justice and health equity. We must urgently take collective action to address racism as a public health crisis and ensure that a person’s race is no longer a barrier to achieving optimal sexual and reproductive health outcomes. Health equity also demands the centering of people across the gender spectrum who have and continue to face significant barriers in attaining sexual & reproductive health care.

These themes will be interwoven into Women’s Health Update 2023, along with the most up-to-date clinical guidelines for providing quality sexual and reproductive health care for ALL.
