Rubin Run 2024: Running for Inclusion

For over 40 years, the Rubin Run has been the signature family-friendly race in Bergen County. Celebrating health and wellness for all ages and abilities, the Rubin Run also raises funds to support programs and services that make our JCC accessible and inclusive to the entire community, especially our Guttenberg Center for Special Services.

It’s your favorite race of the spring! This year’s Rubin Run will be held on Sunday, May 12, Mother’s Day!

The JCC will offer two CompuScore-timed races for the entire family and for competitive athletes at all levels: a 10k run and a 5k run/walk through the tree-lined streets of Tenafly, Englewood Cliffs, and Englewood, NJ. After a finish onto the summer camp field, there will be a series of kid’s fun runs that will help instill a competitive spirit and the joy of running into our younger participants.

“This family-friendly, community-wide event raises important funds for the JCC’s Guttenberg Center for Special Services, which improves the quality of life for people with disabilities,” says JCC Chief Executive Officer Steve Rogers.  “Your participation in the run supports those who rely on the JCC and the Guttenberg Center’s vital resources and incredible programming to build their communication skills and self-confidence, and to continue to grow as engaged and important members of our community.”

The Rubin Run is named for the late Leonard Rubin, a past president and founder of the JCC, who established this community-wide athletic event over 40 years ago in 1981 to encourage and promote healthy living.
